Chelsea will clash with Liverpool, while defending champions Man City will kick off the season against Burnley on August 11th in the Premier League for the 2023-2024 season.

On the afternoon of June 15th, the Premier League organizers announced the schedule for the upcoming season, starting on August 11th, 2023, and concluding on May 19th, 2024. Man City will play their first match away at Burnley, where manager Vincent Kompany will face his former club.

The standout match of the first round will take place between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13th. However, the last four encounters between these two teams have all ended in a goalless draw.

Runners-up Arsenal are expected to secure all three points when they play at home at the Emirates Stadium against Nottingham Forest, while Man Utd will play the latest match of the round against Wolverhampton at Old Trafford. Tottenham and Newcastle will face challenging opponents, Brentford and Aston Villa, respectively.

The following rounds will also feature exciting matches, including Man City vs. Newcastle, Tottenham vs. Man Utd (Round 2), Newcastle vs. Liverpool (Round 3), and Arsenal vs. Man Utd (Round 4).

Chelsea face Liverpool

Among the top teams, Tottenham faces a difficult period towards the end of the season. In late April and early May 2024, they will face Newcastle, Man City, Arsenal, and Liverpool consecutively. Meanwhile, Man City will finish the season with four relatively easier matches against Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Fulham, and West Ham.

The 20 clubs participating in the 2023-2024 Premier League season are Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Man City, Man Utd, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield United, Tottenham, West Ham, and Wolverhampton. Among them, Burnley, Luton, and Sheffield are the newly promoted teams.

As usual, the teams will play each other twice, home and away, over 38 match rounds to accumulate points. If they defend their title, Man City will become the first club to win the English Premier League for four consecutive seasons.

London has seven representatives in the league, including Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham. Old Trafford is the largest stadium with over 74,000 seats, while Luton has the smallest stadium with a capacity of just over 10,000.

Compared to the previous season, which started on August 5th, 2022, the upcoming Premier League season will kick off almost a week later. The league does not have a winter break like Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, or La Liga.
