The FA Cup semi-finals schedule for 2022/23
Recently, the English Football Association (FA) officially confirmed the schedule for the FA Cup semi-finals, which will feature Manchester’s two major representatives, Man Utd and Man City.
In the FA Cup semi-finals, the matches will all be held at the famous Wembley Stadium in England, which is also where the final of the competition takes place. Recently, the FA officially confirmed the schedule for the matches in the round reserved for the four best-performing clubs.
The English Football Association conducted the draw for the FA Cup semi-finals before the quarter-final match between Man Utd and Fulham. As a result, Man City will face a team currently playing in the Championship, Sheffield United, while Man Utd will take on Brighton.
The first FA Cup semifinal will be a match between Man City and Sheffield United, taking place at 4:30 PM BST on April 22nd. With superior quality and class, The Citizens are confident in aiming for a victory, especially against a lower-league club.
Compared to their cross-town rivals, Man United faces many more difficulties as they take on Brighton & Hove Albion – a club in great form in the Premier League this season. Brighton is in excellent form, but Man United is showing a lot of support from Lady Luck.
The semifinal match between the Red Devils and the Seagulls will be held at 4:30 PM BST on April 23rd. This promises to be a challenging 90 minutes for Erik Ten Hag’s team, especially since they previously lost to this opponent at Old Trafford in the opening match of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Football fans, everyone is eagerly anticipating the all-Manchester final in the FA Cup. Of course, the superior class and quality of both City and United make them highly regarded against the opponents they have to face.
This will be a fantastic thing for Manchester City and Manchester United fans alike. Both of their teams are playing exceptionally well and have the chance to win trophies this season.
However, they will have to be highly focused if they want to earn a spot in the final. Currently, both The Citizens and The Red Devils are aiming for the “treble” this season.
Pep Guardiola’s team, they are still striving to catch up to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League while having reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League and the semifinals of the FA Cup. Meanwhile, outside the field, the Red Devils are about to face Brighton, having also earned a spot in the Europa League quarterfinals and won the Carabao Cup in February.
Schedule for the two FA Cup semifinals:
Semifinal 1: Man City vs Sheffield United (16:30 BST on April 22)
Semifinal 2: Man Utd vs Brighton (16:30 BST on April 23)
