Man City is dominating the Premier League

Ladbrokes’ supercomputer predicts that Manchester City will continue to be the champions of the Premier League in the 2023-2024 season, securing their fourth consecutive title.

According to Ladbrokes, the title race next season will remain unchanged, with Arsenal continuing to trail behind Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are unlikely to make the top four this season, are predicted to finish third and secure a spot in the Champions League. Manchester United is expected to claim the remaining spot in the premier European club competition, finishing in fourth place.

Newcastle is causing a surprise by securing a top-four position this season, earning a spot in the Champions League for the first time since the 2002-2003 season. However, Ladbrokes believes that Newcastle won’t be able to repeat this achievement, finishing in sixth place next season.

Fifth place is predicted to belong to Chelsea, a club that hasn’t finished below the top half of the Premier League table since 1996. Back then, “The Blues” finished 11th with 50 points, still a significantly better performance than this season. Under Frank Lampard’s management, Chelsea is currently in 12th place with 43 points, with two matches remaining against Manchester United on May 25th and Newcastle on May 28th.

Despite the prospect of having a new manager in the summer, Tottenham is only predicted to finish in seventh place, while Brighton will secure eighth place. The remaining two positions in the top 10 are expected to be taken by Aston Villa and Brentford, respectively.

Alex Apati, representing Ladbrokes, expects the Premier League to continue breaking transfer records in the summer of 2023, but Manchester City will still enter the new season as one of the top contenders. However, according to Apati, surprises can still happen, similar to Arsenal’s current season.

“Arsenal is the biggest surprise, coming from an outsider position, not even predicted to be in the top group 10 months ago. But Mikel Arteta’s squad will approach the next season as strong second-place contenders,” said Apati.

Meanwhile, the FiveThirtyEight supercomputer has predicted the 20 clubs that will be present in the upcoming Premier League season. This prediction is based on form, recent head-to-head performances, as well as defensive and offensive data from the bottom teams in the Premier League and the leading teams in the Championship.

At the bottom of the table, Southampton is the only team certain to be relegated. Above them, in order, are Leicester (31 points), Leeds (31), and Everton (33). FiveThirtyEight predicts that Leicester (82%) and Leeds (94%) will follow Southampton in playing in the Championship next season, while Everton will continue to compete in the Premier League.

In the Championship, the champions Burnley and the runners-up Sheffield United have secured promotion to the Premier League next season. The remaining spot will be determined in the playoff final between Luton and Coventry at Wembley Stadium on May 27th. FiveThirtyEight evaluates Luton with a 56% chance of winning, compared to Coventry’s 44%.
