The 2022 MLS schedule is set in stone, and everyone is looking forward to a fantastic year. Let’s check out the MLS schedule in September.

The first round of MLS schedule 2022

MLS schedule

Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada, is in its 27th season in 2022. Charlotte FC became the 28th team to be added. New York City FC came into the season as the defending champions, having defeated the Portland Timbers in the MLS Cup 2021 final. The New England Revolution were the reigning Supporters’ Shield champions when the season began.

The MLS regular season in 2022 begins on February 26. Due to the 2022 World Cup being held in November and December, this marks the MLS TV schedule’s earliest start in history. The World Cup takes priority; hence the MLS Cup Playoffs will not take place as scheduled in November or December. The 34-game regular season schedule for each team will have 17 home games and 17 away games. There are some scheduled special games that are an exception to that rule, but we shall display that below.

Kansas City vs Minnesota predictions

Kansas City enters the 2021 season with high expectations. The team made a splash in the offseason by signing Spanish star striker Alan Pulido, who is coming off a strong showing at the 2020 World Cup. In addition, Kansas City has one of the best young midfielders in the league in Gianluca Busio, who is just 18 years old. With Pulido leading the way on offense and Busio controlling the midfield, Kansas City should be one of the top teams in MLS this season.

Minnesota, on the other hand, will be looking to rebound after a disappointing 2020 campaign. The team lost several key players in the offseason, including leading scorer Darwin Quintero. As a result, Minnesota will be relying heavily on newly-signed striker Luis Amarilla to provide goals. While Amarilla is a talented player, he will need help from his teammates if Minnesota wants to compete for a playoff spot this season.
